Every spring I find it hard not to fall in love with all the fresh new trends, but every year there is always one new trend on the block that I just fall head over heels for and this year it’s the colour lilac – Honestly, I just can’t get enough!
We all know that pastels are going to be bigger than ever this upcoming season and I can’t wait as pastels are genuinely my favourite shades of all colours (hence why I have a mint green car and copious amounts of pastel everythings everywhere)! But we’ve seen a lot of pastel pink and mint green around before, unlike lilac which is why I think I love it so much. Genuinely purple isn’t ever a massive hit in fashion but why not? There are some truly beautiful shades and the pieces you can see above would sit very worthy in my wardrobe. I think lilac is the perfect addition to everyones spring wardrobe, whether you choose to add it in through just accessories, or like myself go all out and choose a head-to-toe outfit!
When I was younger my favourite colour was always pastel pink and my sister, whom I shared a room with at the time, her favourite colour was lilac and our room was re-painted every 24 months from pink to purple and back round again – I guess our parents thought it was only fair that the room was our favourite colour for at least half our child-hood, and me and my sister were really close and loved the same things each other loved because the other one loved it so much, so lilac has always been a big colour throughout my life – I just never thought I would find myself loving it even more in my twenties.
But, here I am on a Saturday afternoon pursuing my favourite retailers to find the dreamiest lilac pieces to add to my spring wardrobe; my favourite piece has to be the Mansur Gavriel collard dress, it is just so beautiful and I think it would look perfect for a spring garden party – What do you think? Paired with that oh so dreamy Aspinal of London top handle bag would be the most stunning outfit this spring – Eeek, I’m getting so excited just daydreaming about it!
Now, all I have to do is wait for the spring weather to finally start.
Will you be adding the colour lilac to your wardrobe this season?
